About Us

Todd E. Miller is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience in all phases of taxation, accounting and management services. He is often retained by attorneys and professional fiduciaries for his knowledge in Trust and Estate taxation. Todd also consults with clients regarding investment planning, retirement planning and estate planning and holds both securities licenses and insurance licenses. He has significant experience representing clients with tax issues before the Internal Revenue Service.

Todd has been active in community service including Rotary Club, Boys and Girls Club and teaches Accounting at our local college. He is currently serving on the board of the Oakhurst Chamber of Commerce. He has also owned and managed other businesses in the mountain area.

There is no substitute for experience. Todd brings a unique level of expertise with his experience in Income Taxation, Investment Planning, Estate and Trust Issues, business ownership and teaching.

Karen has been with the firm over nine years. She is an alumnus of the University of Colorado, Boulder and a diehard Dodger fan. She considers herself the firm's "utility player." She also serves as the firm's webmaster.

Karen oversees the payroll and accounting engagements and especially enjoys working with small business clients. She has extensive experience in payroll issues from an employer standpoint, including continuing education in employment law.

As an Enrolled Agent, Karen is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and enjoys assisting clients with their income tax preparation. The Enrolled Agent designation requires extensive continuing education each year in federal and state taxation. In addition, she is a member of the National Society of Tax Professionals.

Karen is also active in community service. She is a past president of Soroptimist International of the Sierra, has served on numerous boards of directors and is currently serving as the Eastern Madera County Chamber of Commerce Foundation's treasurer.

Kim has been with Miller & Smith for 2 1/2 years as the office manager. Kim handles payroll processing for our clients. In addition, she handles much of the firm's administrative duties, including client billing. You may recognize Kim when you come to the office, as she has lived in Oakhurst for over 27 years!

Kerri is usually the first voice you hear on the phone and the first person you see when you come to our office! She has served as our receptionist for over two years. Kerri schedules client appointments and notifies clients when returns or financial statements are ready. Kerri also assists Todd in the financial services department.
